Yaritza Guillen is the Stewardship Coordinator with NeighborSpace where she uses her skills as an urban planner, horticulturist, and environmentalist with a strong focus on interdisciplinary practices, community-based design, and story mapping. Yaritza has worked with nonprofits and designers to educate a wide variety of institutions on effective ways to collaborate with BIPOC communities throughout the South and West side of Chicago. She engages with multiple projects in an expanded capacity as a cultural producer and community planner for projects like the The Real Film’s production of Nuestra Herencia highlighting the El Paseo Community Garden.
