Maria serves as the Head of the Charity Department of the Buddhist Compassion Relief Tzu Chi Foundation, an international humanitarian organization whose mission is to relieve the suffering of those most in need. She leads in the development and implementation of the provision of medical and educational assistance through a holistic case management approach, which promotes self-reliance and improves quality of life. A development worker for the past 20 years, Tina has served in numerous capacities across non-profit organizations, government, and academic institutions promoting child protection, increase access to social services, volunteerism, grassroots organizing, and sustainable development. Tina earned her Bachelor of Science in Social Work from Miriam College in Manila.
