Jassi earned her PhD in International Law at the University of Bristol (UK) in 2021, where she explored the role of girl child soldiers in conflict (focusing on the Sri Lankan and Ugandan wars). Her areas of interest are gender and war, feminist legal theory, critical race theory, children in armed conflict, and self-determination and civil resistance struggles. She holds an LLM in Human Rights Law from Birkbeck College, University of London, and a BA in Geography from King’s College London, and was formerly editor of the International Journal of Human Rights and the Birkbeck Law Review. She has held positions at the Crucible Centre for Human Rights Research, the Overseas Development Institute, and the University of Bristol.
