Damen Morris was incarcerated at the age of 17 for 10 years and 3 months. When he was released, he fortunately came into contact with Breakthrough Ministries, who gave him a second chance, and surrounded him with a great support system and leaders who encouraged and challenged him to develop professionally. In his 12 years at Breakthrough Ministries, he has been promoted from a program assistant for homeless intervention to the director of violence prevention under the Communities Partnering for Peace initiative.
