Akif Irfan

Akif is a Vice President at Goldman Sachs where he is a Portfolio Manager on the Energy Infrastructure and Renewables Team. Akif’s career and academic background place him at the intersection of energy markets, environmental policy, and international relations. With over fifteen years of industry experience, Akif is closely engaged with senior executives, policy experts, academics, and other leaders in the energy space. He also regularly shares his perspectives as a speaker at panels, webcasts, and investor forums as well as through thought pieces and white papers. Akif also plays a leadership role for several think tanks and nonprofits including being named to the Rising Leaders Program of the Aspen Strategy Group, the Executive Leadership Intensive of the Atlantic Council, and the Term Member Program of the Council on Foreign Relations. Akif earned an MBA from Columbia Business School, an MA from Columbia University, and a BA from Northwestern University.
