Abdullah Pratt
Founder and Executive Director, The Medical Careers Exposure and Emergency Preparedness Initiative
Dr. Adullah Pratt is an Assistant Professor of Emergency Medicine and ER Physician at The University of Chicago Medical – Trauma Center and advocates for systemic changes to improve health literacy and access to sustainable healthcare. Abdullah addresses persistent healthcare disparities that often leads patients to seek treatment for non-life threatening illnesses in Emergency Departments. Known as the “off the block Doc”, Abdullah has trained over 7,000 youth across Chicago in how to manage gun shot wounds. He supports youth sports programs that provide access to acute care for injuries, but also helps to instill greater resilience and preparation for success, as sports once did for him.
